Case Study: Omran

The Client

Omran drives the investment, growth and development of the rapidly growing tourism sector in the Sultanate of Oman. They are the master developer of major tourism, heritage and urban developments, delivering some of nation’s most iconic projects. Omran create new destinations and unique experiences that benefit the social and economic growth of the Sultanate. Omran was established by Government mandate in 2005 in line with the vision to strengthen and diversify the economy, and they achieve this by growing the capacity, scope and potential of the tourism sector in Oman.

The Project

Peritus were contracted to provide a bespoke situational leadership programme for the leadership teams within Omran. The programme focussed around the core elements of situational leadership to develop practical knowledge in leading people, planning, managing change, communication and performance management. The programme was designed with Omran to include many relevant practical activities, in order for the delegates to transfer their knowledge into their day to day roles and ultimately change their behaviour across the organisation and ensure consistency in approach.

The Result

The overall feedback was excellent and participation maintained at 100% throughout the programme. From the evaluation undertaken with all delegates the programme achieved an average of 95% delegate and customer satisfaction with a number of comments made around this being the finest programme they had been through, with the trainer being exceptional – “the best we have ever had”

Case Study: Ministry of Education – Oman

The Client

The Ministry of Education leads the mission to prepare a generation capable of carrying the nation’s economic and social development duties. A mastermind of all measures of teaching and learning and school management. It gears all facilities, curricula, evaluation systems and high quality working force to serve all pupils in various education sectors along with deployment of modern technologies proportionate to Digital Oman Community Strategy. It also works to orchestrate all efforts excreted by private sector and the community to serve education, devising the way to powerful and modern consistent modernization contiguous with civilized nations.

The Project

Peritus were contracted to provide an accredited Train the Trainer programme. Through discussion it was identified that a practical based programme through our international ITOL awarding body would be the most relevant solution. The programme was designed to ensure delegates could achieve both a ITOL Introductory Certificate to Training Delivery and a ITOL Certificate in Training and Development.

The programme focussed on ensuring delegates could:

  • Identify the immediate learning needs of individuals.
  • Write learning aims and objectives in accordance with best practice.
  • Analyse tasks and design training activities to facilitate the learning of those tasks.
  • Instruct on a one to one or small group basis using appropriate demonstrations and constructive feedback skills.
  • Facilitate a group training session which uses a range of activities.
  • Assess and evaluate immediate learning.

The Result

Peritus also worked with the delegates to ensure they understood how to introduce a model of measuring impact of learning, through our extensive understanding of return on investment models and practice.  The model we have developed, the training provided and the implementation of these new skills, behaviours and processes has resulted in huge savings across the organisation in the way that learning is managed, delivered and measured.
